Conveniently located in downtown Campbell, California - The Academy of Classical Ballet offers a professional, disciplined, and personally rewarding approach to classical ballet for dancers of all ages and skill levels. At our Academy, ballet is not just the main focus - it's the only focus. While many dance schools treat classical ballet as a supplement to other forms of dance, The Academy of Classical Ballet-CALIFORNIA believes that classical ballet training is the proper foundation to build upon.

The Academy offers a unique, nurturing, and growth-oriented set of programs designed to fit the needs of all aspiring dancers, complete with a reasonable pricing structure, referral incentives for its students, and American Ballet Theatre-Certified ballet instruction. Our training programs offer the most intensive ballet training in the South Bay Area, with experience that stems from a history of over 20 years in the industry, both on-stage, and in the studio. Our teaching model is highly-respected and has a consistent track record of producing high-level dancers.

Our Background Of Over 20 Years In the Ballet World


The Academy of Classical Ballet-CALIFORNIA was created in 2008 by the former Associate Director of the highly-successful Los Gatos Ballet, Crystal Petzel. Her reputation in the ballet community is far-reaching, going back over 20 years. In that time, Crystal has fostered and maintained numerous close-ties with dancers, instructors, and ballet/dance companies around the U.S. This diverse experience, coupled with her strict adherence to the teachings of classical ballet, while still being able to offer a fun, positive atmosphere, high-energy level, and measurable results for her students, make The Academy Of Classical Ballet - CALIFORNIA, something truly special.

Many of our past students have gone on to dance with prestigious ballet/dance companies and Universities such as The San Francisco Ballet, Boston Conservatory, not to mention aiding in the training of several finalists' on the hit FOX network show "So You Think You Dance".

Our previous dance students and colleagues frequently offer high praise and are rarely shy in sharing it.

The training offered by the Academy ranges from pre-ballet to the professional level. All ages and backgrounds are welcomed and training varies from group classes, custom-tailored private lessons, on-site training for synchronized swimmers, competitive dancers, and athletes.

Ms. Crystal is more than just a ballet teacher to me; she is a mentor. Her knowledge and instruction have not only taught me discipline and technique, but have motivated me to become an artist of passion, courage, and integrity. She has given me such a strong foundation that I dedicate my development as a young dancer to her. Now as I am in pursuit in becoming a professional dancer, Ms. Crystal's encouragement still guides me in pursuit of my dreams.
