We are pleased to be performing at Iam Ministries Third 2011 Ballet Salon - Ballet in The Afternoon. Our students will be performing a few snippets from our last show "A Music Box Dream". The show is on Sunday, August 28th at 3:00pm and we would love to have you join us. Here is all of the information.

New Adult Class Schedule
We have a new round of classes for all adults:
Intermediate
Level: Monday 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Beginning Level: Wednesday 7:30pm - 9:00pm
(Both Classes are in Studio A)
Tuition for the semester (August 22- Dec 17):
One class a week: $270
Two classes a week: $500

Studio A Has a New Floor
Studio A has a newly installed, brand new marley surface! Marley is dance-speak for "awesome", meaning that it's slip-resistant and allows for much more controlled movement and security. Some students have claimed higher-jumps and bigger-turns as a result, but we think they may be overstating it. ;) We invite you to try out the brand new floor during our upcoming Fall Semester - we would love to have you!

M Productions has invited the Academy to dance at their 2011 "Spring Showcase | Today's Young Talent" production and we couldn't be more happy to be dancing there. The show is on Saturday, April 1st @ 1:30pm. Click here for all of the information.

The Academy always looks forward to this great outdoor show. You get to see us and a myriad of other local dance studios perform - and the best part is that it's free!
"Dancin' Downtown" is an annual dance festival set for May 1st, 2011. during National Dance Week from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. This years event will take place in Valencia Park at Santana Row (in front of Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant). Click here for more information about the event.
Dancin' Downtown is intended to showcase the wealth and diversity of South Bay dance artists. All dance companies, choreographers, studios, performing groups and cultural organizations are eligible to apply. We are especially encouraging participants from all across the Bay Area to participate, including San Francisco, North Bay, East Bay, Peninsula and South Bay regions. We hope to see you there.

It's Official - Crystal Petzel is now ABT Certified!
Academy director, Crystal Petzel recently spent a week in New York City at the famed American Ballet Theatre to become an "ABT-Certified Teacher" by enrolling in the ABT® National Training Curriculum, and guess what? She made it out alive and is now 100% official!
Specifically, Crystal is certified in levels: Primary To Level Three. Congratulations to her and her successful completion of the grueling course. (She hasn't stopped smiling ever since hearing the news...but don't let her know we told you so.)

"Thumbelina" will be performed in Downtown Campbell @ The Community Center on May 15th & 16th. Come See Our First Feature Length Ballet!!
We graciously invite you to our official debut performance featuring the wonderful dancers from The Academy of Classical Ballet - CALIFORNIA. "Thumbelina" is a beloved story by the late and great, Hans Christian Andersen that we have thoughtfully adapted into a feature-length ballet. The Academy can't wait to put on this great performance for you, as our dancers have worked hard to make this performance truly special. We hope to see you there.

Dance Injury Prevention lecture on January 29th
On January 29th, Ariel Lehaitre
will give a dance injury prevention lecture in Studio X. Ariel's resume is extensive as both a dancer and a Rehabilition Pilates instructor. Here is

Congratulations to Gabbie De Leon for winning the All-Around state title at the 2009 NorCal State Gymnastics Championships! She has been ranked number one in the Child E Division. Gabbie has won the All-Around, Beam, and Floor state championship titles in back-to-back seasons. We are so proud of Gabbie and happy to be a part of her success.

Ballet & Pointe Fitness Lecture/Demonstration
We're pleased to announce that on Tuesday, July 21st, Dr. Chris Chung M.D., and Kim Gardner, Dance Therapist, Pilates Instructor, will be giving a lecture/demonstration about ballet and dancing on pointe. The discussion will include physical issues
affecting pointe readiness (growth spurts and the closing of growth plates, joint flexibility
and stability). Students will be lead through some exercises to address these issues.
